Sant Gurdial Singh was born on 15th September, 1908, in Jagraon, Distt Ludhiana in Punjab in a prosperous family of Shri Lall singh and Smt. Nand Kaur. He studied upto B.Sc. in Forman Christian College, Lahore, and obtained his Degree from Panjab University, Lahore, For sometime, he worked as a lecturer in Khalsa College, Amritsar, Later, he was recruited in Air Force as a Pilot.

Sant Gurdial Singh came into the fold of Sant Nirankari Mission in 1948. He attained Braham Gyan from Baba Avtar Singh Ji. From that very day, he become a true devotee of his Satguru and served him with head and heart and had the rarest distinction of receiving his blessings. He was entrusted with various duties and responsibilities which he discharged conscientiously and with great zeal.

Sant Gurdial Singh Sidhu was a great preacher and spread ideals of the Nirankari Mission with utmost zeal and devotion. In 1972, as desired by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, He accompanied Babu Mahadev Singh Ji and Nihal Singh Ji in the first ever spiritual tour of North America. This was prelude to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji’s maiden tour to this part of the globe. Sant Sidhu Ji again visited this part of the world along with Bhai Sahib Amar Singh Ji of Patiala.

Sant Gurdial Singh Sidhu was free from ego and vanity. Even though he retired as a Squadron Leader from Indian Air Force in 1962, he never let his high rank and position come come in remaining ever sweet and humble in his doings and dealings as a devout follower of the Mission. The last years of Sant Gurdial Singh Sidhu’s life were spent in the service of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji. Baba Ji nominated his as Chairman of Annual Samagam Committee. Meticulous planning and excellent arrangements made by him were lauded by one and all. As secretary of Sant Nirankari Mandal, he was prompt in decision and quick in disposal.

Everybody must leave this material world sooner or latter. So did Rev. Gurdial Singh Sidhu Ji. The greatest wish of a true devotee is to serve the True Master till the last breath which he did as a Divine blessing. Sant Gurdial Singh Sidhu Ji, Secretary, Working Committee of Sant Nirankari Mandal merged in the Formless Nirankar on 1st October, 1984 at 1.00 A.M. at the age of 76. a huge funeral procession was taken out on 4th October, 1984, in which thousands of Nirankari Saints and others participated. He was cremated at Electric Crematorium in Delhi with simran of “Ik Tu Hi Nirankar”. Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj his shoulder to his mortal remains. His two children lit his pyre.

A huge congregation was held in 6th October, 1984 in Nirankari Bhawan, Sant Nirankari Colony, Delhi, in which his self-less services to the Mission were recounted and appreciated. Glowing tributes were paid to him by several Nirankari Saints.

In the General Body meeting of Sant Nirankari Mandal held on 27th October, 1984, at Samagam Venue, a resolution was adopted in which rich tributes were paid to this distinguished devotee, Rev. Gurdial Singh Sidhu, Secretary Sant Nirankari Mandal.

Congregations were also held in Canada, U.S.A. and some other countries at the instance of his sons. Where befitting tributes were paid to him for his selfless services to the Mission and his Lord Master.

Let us all pray to Baba Ji to bless us with the strength and wisdom to emulate Rev. Gurdial Singh Sidhu Ji.
