Rev. Ashok Kumar is a
Member of the Executive Committee of the Sant Nirankari Mandal at
Delhi Headquarters. He is the Member Incharge of General Store –
Purchases and Up-keep of Stores. He is also rendering his services
as Member of All India Working Committee.
Shri Ashok Kumar was
born on May 7, 1939 at Pattoki, Distt. Lahore (Now in Pakistan) in
the family of Shri Harcharan Dass and Smt. Satyawati. The parents
belonged to a middle class family, who had faith in great Gurus and
the Sikh traditions. Shri Ashok Kumar has four brothers and three
sisters – all younger to him. Shri Harcharan Dass, a true devotee of
Shanshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji, expired on December 15, 1972.
In 1952, while a student
of 10th Class, Shri Ashok Kumar had to give up his studies due to
his family's circumstances. After struggling a lot he started his
own business in Delhi in 1958.
Shri Ashok Kumar
struggled hard all the time at various levels, but as a result of
Satguru's continued blessings, he got vast experience in the
business field. He visited most of the State capitals in connection
with his business. At present, he along with his Brothers is
manufacturing Crankshafts and their factories are located at Belgaum
(Karnataka), Shinoli (Maharashtra) and Rudarpur (Uttaranchal) with
their registered office at M.M. Road, Delhi.
In May, 1998, Satguru
Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj was pleased to authorize him to impart
Brahm Gyan to the aspirants.
Shri Ashok Kumar was
married to Smt. Ramma Ji in 1962. He has two sons and one daughter,
all married. His son Sandeep Manchanda is a Sewa Dal Shikshak of
Sector 11, Karol Bagh, Delhi Branch. Like his father, he is also a
wise and efficient Businessman.
Shri Ashok Kumar has
been associated with the Sant Nirankari Mission since 1950,
Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji Maharaj enlightened him with Brahm
Gyan at Paharganj, Delhi. Since Ashok Kumar came from a family
deeply in love with Gurbani, he picked up the Mission's ideology
without any difficulty. He took inspiration from his father also.
Due to his vast experience in Business, he made useful contribution
to the Mission. He served as Sewa Dal Sahayak Shikshak from the very
beginning and became a Sanchalak in Karol Bagh Sector Delhi in 1990.
Shri Ashok Kumar became
a Member of the Working Committee in May, 2005. The same day he was
nominated Member of the Executive Committee, Sant Nirankari Mandal.
Earlier, Shri Ashok Kumar was nominated as a Member of the Managing
Committee of Sant Nirankari Sr. Sec. School, Pahar Ganj, Delhi on
July 05, 1995; January 01, 2000; and April 15, 2002. As a member of
Working Committee of Nirankari Baba Gurbachan Singh Memorial
College, Sohna (Haryana) first since August 01, 1998; and then from
July 01, 2001. Shri Ashok Kumar has been working as Incharge of
Samagam Sub-Committee for General Purchases in Annual Sant Samagams
held in Delhi, since 1995 to date. He has been assisting the General
Secretary Rev. Gobind Singh Ji for purchase/sale of lands as
Additional Member Incharge (Lands). He is also holding independent
charge as Member Incharge Lands Purchase/Sales in Southern States
and Goa from 01/04/2006. Shri Ashok Kumar has enjoyed the benign
blessings of His Holiness all along.
Today, Shri Ashok Kumar
is one of the active members of the Executive Committee. Though
settled in Karol Bagh (Delhi), he is attending to his
responsibilities at the Headquarters of the Mission regularly. His
life has been a living example of love and devotion for the True
Master and service to the mankind. He receives lot of love and
respect from Sadh Sangat for the effective way he puts across the
Mission's message. May His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj
bestow Shri Ashok Kumar with ability and strength so that he
continues to serve the Mission with greater and greater zeal, sense
of devotion and dedication.
