Rev. Devraj Bajaj is a
Member of Executive Committee of the Sant Nirankari Mandal. He is
Incharge – Administration of Branches of Southern States, Orissa,
West Bengal, Assam, North Eastern States, Sikkim, Goa, Andaman and
Nicobar Islands. While the Administration of Branches in all other
States was assigned to him with effect from April 1, 2002, Goa was
added to the list from May 1, 2008. In this capacity he looks after
and controls all the states-level and Regional Samagams in these
areas (w.e.f. May 1, 2008). He is also Parmukh of Bangalore Branch
and Zonal Incharge for Southern States. He is so devoted and
dedicated to the Mission and Satguru that even at the age of 80, he
keeps on shuttling between the Branches of his Area and Headquarters
at Delhi, frequently to attend to his responsibilities towards his
assignments.
Rev. Bajaj was born on
June 15, 1928 at Village Meani Bhegopurian, Distt. Kapurthala
(Punjab) in the family of Late Shri Chand Lal Bajaj and Smt. Basant
Kaur Bajaj. He can read, write and speak Hindi, Urdu, English and
Persian. In addition, he can speak Punjabi, Tamil, Kannada and
Telugu languages and can understand Malayalam and Bengali.
Rev. Devraj Bajaj
struggled hard all the time at various levels and in 1959 he started
his own business of plywood, laminates and glass in the name and
style as “Dev Bajaj Glass and Plywood” in Bangalore. He has visited
most of the state capitals of India in connection with his business.
With his hard labour and vast experience coupled with Satguru's
benign blessings, he became a very successful businessman. At
present also, he is in the same business, now carried on by his
youngest son, Shri Venkatesh Bajaj.
Rev. Bajaj was married
on May 16, 1947 to Late Smt. Mahishi Krishna Bajaj in Village Khudda,
Distt. Hoshiarpur (Punjab). They have three sons – Vijay Bajaj,
Vinod Bajaj and Venkatesh Bajaj, and two daughters – Veena Thapar
and Geeta Nanda, all well settled. Vijay Bajaj is a doctor and
settled with his family in Chicago, USA. The second son, Vinod Bajaj
is also settled in USA with his family. The third son, Venkatesh
Bajaj is looking after the business in Bangalore. Their daughter
Veena Thapar is settled in Hyderabad (AP) while Geeta Nanda is in
Oman (Muscat). The whole family of Rev. Devraj Bajaj is God loving,
devotees of Sant Nirankari Mission.
Rev. Devraj Bajaj had
leaning towards and aptitude for spirituality right from his
childhood. Since he came from a family deeply in love with holy
scriptures, he too took keen interest in reading and reciting
religious books and seeking the company of saints. Prior to his
coming in contact with the Sant Nirankari Mission, he was with Radha
Soami Mission, Beas.
Rev. Devraj Bajaj
received Brahm Gyan through motivation from the then Pramukh of
Bangalore, Rev. Balwant Singh Ji. God was revealed to him by
Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji Maharaj on March 19, 1957 and further
explained during his second visit to Bangalore. This was a turning
point in his life and he never looked back. Ever since he was
enlightened with God-knowledge, he has been devoted to the Mission
and dedicated to Satguru from the core of his heart.
As a humble devotee,
Rev. Devraj Bajaj continued doing Satsang, Sewa and Simran as per
commandments of the Satguru and got peace, bliss and prosperity at
the divine door. On October 10, 1973 Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj
was pleased to authorise him to impart Brahm Gyan to the aspirants.
Simultaneously, he was made Zonal In-charge, Karnataka and Andhra
Pradesh.
Rev. Devraj Bajaj has
been a Member of the All India Working Committee since it was
constituted in 1979. He was its Vice Chairman during the period
2001-2002.
On March 18, 1985 with
the benign blessings of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj,
Rev. Devraj Bajaj was nominated as a Member of the Executive
Committee and given the charge of Publications Department with
Headquarters in Delhi. The Publications improved in all respects. He
continued to hold this charge along with his responsibilities as
Zonal In-charge, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh till March 13, 1992
when he was made Zonal In-charge for all the Southern States of
India i.e., Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and
Kerala, with Zonal Headquarters at Bangalore for improving the
Prachar in these states.
His esteemed wife, Rev.
Mahishi Krishna Bajaj who was also a devout Gyan Pracharak worked
shoulder to shoulder with him. She was awarded Brahm Gyan Pradan
Patra by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj on September 23,
2002. She was a great soul with divine qualities of sobriety,
patience, peace, love and tolerance. Nirankari devotees venerably
addressed her as “Mummy Ji”. She expired on February 28, 2007.
On April 1, 2002 Rev.
Devraj Bajaj was again nominated as a Member of the Executive
Committee of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, along with his
responsibilities as Zonal In-charge of Southern States. This time he
was made Member In-charge of 16 states for Administration of
Branches i.e., Southern States, Orissa, West Bengal, Assam, North
Eastern States, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In addition,
he was given the charge of branches in Goa also with effect from May
1, 2008. From this date (1.5.2008), Rev Devraj Bajaj looks after
and control all the Samagams of the Mission in these States.
Besides being Member of
Program Committee of Delhi Annual Sant Samagam, Rev. Devraj Bajaj
was nominated as In-charge of Pandal Reception Committee in 2005.
Ever since he continues to have these responsibilities also.
Rev. Devraj Bajaj was
awarded the prestigious title of 'Brahmarishi' on behalf of the
World Religious Parliament with Headquarters at Chicage (USA) in
1987. He was presented this award during the Annual Nirankari Sant
Samagam of Maharashtra in Bombay at the gracious hands of Acharya
Prabhakar Mishra Ji (Yogacharya), Vice Chancellor, Sanskrit
University, Darbhanga in divine presence as also with the kind
blessings of His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj.
Rev. Devraj Bajaj's life
has been a living example of love and devotion for the True Master
and service to the mankind. Due to his divine qualities, he receives
lot of love and respect from Sadh Sangat and is affectionately
addressed by Nirankari devotees as “Daddy Ji”. May His Holiness Baba
Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj bestow him with ability and strength so that
he continues to serve the Mission with greater and greater zeal,
sense of devotion and dedication.
