Mangal Sain Ji is one of the
glaring examples of a devotee’s firm faith and dedication to the True Master
and the latter’s bountiful blessings. While Mangal Sain Ji never looked back
after joining the Sant Nirankari Mission, Satguru saw him climbing the
ladder from its lowest step to the present position of Secretary, Sant
Nirankari Mandal.
Mangal Sain Ji was born on May
29, 1934. His parents Shri Hans Raj and Smt. Vidya Wati were residents of
Village Behak Daim, Teh. Bhalwal, Distt Sargodha (now Pakistan). For
studies, Mangal Sain Ji had to stay with his grand parents at Kot Moman in
the same Tehsil. He passed his Middle standard in 1946 and joined IX Class
in Sanatan Dharam High School, Bhalwal. Even though he was a brilliant
student, he could not continue his studies due to the partition of India in
1947 and subsequent hardships the family faced.
After staying for a few days in
Amritsar, Mangal Sain Ji, along with other members of the family, came to
Ambala City and stayed in Baldev Nagar Refugee Camp for two months. In the
refugee camp they came into contact with the family of Shri Nand Lal
Nirvair. Shri Nirvair brought Mangal Sain Ji to Delhi. Here he stayed with
Shri Nirvair’s family and helped them in welding work in their factory in
Multani Dhanda, Paharganj.
It was with the loving
persuasion from Shri Nirvair who had just joined the Sant Nirankari Mission
that Mangal Sain Ji started attending the Nirankari congregations in
Paharganj. He was blessed with Brahm Gyan by Baba Avtar Singh Ji in 1950.
Soon after this, he left the welding job and joined the Sant Nirankari
Senior Secondary School, Motia Khan Paharganj, New Delhi as Peon. In April
1952, he got married with Kanta Rani Ji and shifted to a modest
accommodation in the School compound itself. Here he got the privilege of
working under the guidance of Bhagat Ram Chand Ji (Pahar Ganj), known for
his devotion and dedication to the Mission.
Mangal Sain Ji joined the Mandal
office in Paharganj in 1954 and started working with Dr. Des Raj Ji, Shri
Khem Raj Chadha, Shri J.S. Chugh, Shri Girdhari Lal 'Bhaur’ and Shri K.L.
Wahi.In 1958, when the Mandal office was shifted to Sant Nirankari Colony,
he used to come from Paharganj daily after School hours to work in the
office.
In 1959, with the benign
blessings of Baba Avtar Singh Ji, Mangal Sain Ji left the school and got
full time duty in the Mandal office in Sant Nirankari Colony. He was
attached to Shri Ram Saran Ji, Secretary, where he worked in office in the
category of a clerk, telephone operator, etc. In fact he was handling all
matters except Accounts, which included land, building, magazines, press
publicity, transport, Prachar, reception and PS to His Holiness. Following
expansion of the office in 1963, Mangal Sain Ji was assigned the duty of
Office Superintendent. He held this responsibility till 1985.
On November 13, 1974, Mangal
Sain Ji was blessed by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji with Gyan Pradan Patra so
that he could reveal Brahm Gyan on his behalf. In October, 1985, His
Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj nominated him as a member of the
Working Committee. At the same time, he was made a member of the Executive
Committee and Secretary in the vacancy of Shri Gurdial Singh Sidhu. He
worked as Secretary Administration of Branches till 1996 and then took over
Estate Management, Transport and Reception. In addition, from April 1,
2002, Mangal Sain Ji was given the responsibility to organized the meetings
of the Executive Committee and the General Body of the Mandal and draft the
minutes. He also issued Gian Pardan Patras and deal with the rules and
regulations of the Mandal, etc.
From January 15, 2003, Mangal
Sain Ji was given the charge of Sarovar Complex also, in addition to
Transport and Estate Management as also his responsibilities on Secretary
SNM. In May, 2005, however, he relinquished the charge of Sarovar Complex.
With effect from May 1, 2006, Mangal Sain Ji was allocated the
administration of branches in Delhi and Greater Delhi. Since May 1, 2006,
he has been looking after Langar, Reception, Telephone Exchange and
Administration of Branches in Delhi and Greater Delhi.
