Birth and Family
Rev Rajnish Kumar was born on November 16, 1940 at Abohar, Distt. Ferozepur in Pujnab.  His parents late Shri Kulwant Rai Jhamb and Smt. Vidyawanti belonged to a very rich aristocrat family of landlords and agriculturists.  His grandfather Sardar Budh Singh was owner of several villages and Havelis.  He was third child in family of six (4 brothers, 2 sisters).  Soon after his birth Rajnish Kumar was adopted by Shri Ganga Ram from whom he inherited a large agriculture property of village Maniawali now district Faridkot (Pb.).

Education
Because of his inborn quality of mechanical brain and bent of mind, Rajnish Kumar did his schooling upto VII class and got into his family business of foundry and machine shop.  But a spark of incident and a taunt from his elder brother helped him to have firm determination to come out of uneducated class.  Therefore, he started receiving education privately, even while working at family workshop he passed several Punjab University exams to become a graduate.  He passed Rattan, Prabhakar (Hindi) at the age of 14 only and was awarded merit certificate being the youngest student to pass that exam of the university, Budhimani (Punjabi), Matric, F.A., B.A. (English) then Political Science and Sanskrit and thus he obtained Graduation degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh.  His keen interest in automobiles prompted him to do specialised courses at Perkins at Madras and for quite sometime ran agency for Ambassador Cars and Bedford Trucks popular at that time, at Abohar (Pb).

Migration to Delhi
After 1965 war his family decided to have a second house at a safer place because the Hometown Abohar is on Pakistan border.  And for this purpose he migrated to Delhi in the year 1966 and started Ball Bearing business at Kashmere Gate, Delhi.  It was during this course of time that he happened to meet Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Ji Bombaywale (now in USA) whose inspiration brought him close to Sant Nirankari Mission.  He was blessed with Brahm Gyan by Rev. Rajmata Ji in the year 1970 along with his wife Smt. Kanta to whom he had got married in the year 1968.

Initially because of lack of understanding of Gyan and irregular attendance in Sangat till 1973, Rev Rajnish Kumar had a camouflaged faith in Gyan, Nirankar and Satsang.  But all along he had been close to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and receiving lot of love and affections from him.  One fine day Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji asked him to become regular in Satsang and attend Sunday Satsang without ditch.  From then onwards he never looked back.  His faith became more and more firm and true understanding of Gyan started pouring in.  Sewa became the primary object of his life.  Because of large scale and ever expanding business which he was handling singly, his physical Sewa had some constraints but his everything else remained open for Sewa of Satguru and Sadh Sangat.  He has been organizing weekly Satsang in his house regularly.  Even today his house has a separate fully equipped Satsang Hall.

From the year 1988, Rev Rajnish Kumar started having pangs for Tan Ki Sewa (Physical service) and started taking less interest in business and more in Sewa.  Baba Hardev Singh Ji put him on Sewa in Store during Samagams.  From there it became regular Sewa in General Store though part time.  Since Store required full time and regular attendance, he took over this responsibility leaving behind his business.  With his vast Mechanical, Technical and Commercial experience and sharp business accumenship he raised the General Store to the status of an institution serving the needs of every department of the Sant Nirankari Mandal.  It is Baba Ji’s grace that from 1.5.2005, he has taken him from there to the Executive Committee and assigned much larger and more responsible Sewa as Member Incharge. Sarovar Complex and Ground No.8. As such he is rendering his Sewa by way of looking after all arrangements for Gaushala, Sarovars, Museum (Journey Divine), Agriculture and Cultivation and all Canteens.

From April 2006, His Holiness added Studio also to His responsibilities.  Here he is looking after all the production work related to audio programmes of all video Programmes and audio-cassettes (except devotional songs) needed by Internet, Publication and Press & Publicity departments.  May His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj bless him with physical and mental ability and strength to serve the cause Baba Ji has chosen Rev Rajnish Kumar for, with greater zeal, devotion and dedication.
