SALVATION TOUR BY HIS HOLINESS
BABA HARDEV SINGH JI MAHARAJ
May
29, 2008 onwards (Part 8)
(Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttara Khand)

The same evening the entourage departed for Chamba in the evening.  Enroute, blessing the devotees assembled at Uthod Pipola Gaon, His Holiness stated;

“Devotees wish to always remember God Formless.  Whereas the worldly-minded have worldly desires, devotees pray God to grant them constant God-remembrance – ‘Kabir Ram Na Chhodiye, Tan Dhan Jaye So Jaye’.  In other words, devotees give utmost significance to God as compared to worldly objects and achievements.  They remember God every moment just as a fish lives every moment in water – ‘Tudh Chit Aave Maha Ananda, Tudh Bisray So Mar Jayi’.  Remembering God with every breath, devotees live a blissful life.  May God Formless give you all the strength to render devotion.”

It was around 9.00 p.m. that the entourage reached the Satsang Bhawan at Chamba.  All the devotees present there paid their obeisance at Baba Ji’s holy feet.  Blessing the devotees His Holiness stated;

“Devotion is the link between a devotee and God Formless.  A devotee remains ever-keen to strengthen the link of devotion; along with fulfilling his worldly responsibilities he remains grateful to God-Formless for all His mercies.  Though he lives in the world, fulfils all his worldly responsibilities, yet a devotee remains constantly focused unon God-Formless and lives his life within Divine-Will.  May God bless so that all of you continue getting an opportunity to attend Congregation and render God-remembrance and Selfless Service.”

Next day on June 11, 2008, a congregation was organized within the premises of State Inter College.  It was after a long gap of eleven years that Baba Ji blessed the city once again with his kind visit.  Addressing the congregation at the conclusion of the programme, His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj stated;

“Every aspect of the life of the one established in humanity becomes beautiful.  Being born a human is not enough; man has to also live his life imbibed with humanity.  Whether he is a Doctor or a Lawyer or a Businessman or a Ruler or a Sportsman or anything else, man should not let go of humanity.  Man’s achievements, education, progress, success at the cost of humanity is meaningless as well as condemnable.

Today humanity is shorn to pieces.  Selfishness and greed make a son kill his father and throw his old and invalid mother out on the road!  Though the structure of man’s house today is very strong yet that of his home is weak; a house is built with cement and bricks whereas a home gets created with the feelings of love, faith, selflessness and sacrifice of its members.  Man’s inhumanity is causing much exploitation in the society;  the menace of dowry, alcoholism, the pride of wealth, power and might make man exploit man and cause much pain and suffering.  Man nurtures pride and commits violence even in the name of God and religion; he considers himself religious because he worships God, performs rites and rituals, goes on pilgrimage, feeds poor in the name of God but also burns alive those who believe in  a prophet other than his!  Do the so called custodians of religion who make man kill and fight man because of religion, know the true meaning of religion?  A saint has said, ‘Par Hit Saras Dharam Nahi Bhai, Par Peeda Sum Nahi Adhmai’ – that there is no further religion than doing the good of the other and no more irreligiousness than causing pain and suffering to the other.  What good are such ones teaching man who make man fight with man?  All the saints tried to make man understand one religion of humanity; whether it is the Hindu or Muslim or Sikh or Christian religion, all glorify humanity and ask man to live as a human imbibed with love, humility, compassion and universal brotherhood.

Human values are diminishing fast in this present age.  Man has made much progress but humanity is becoming weaker by the day.  What use will be progress once humanity is lost?  What use is a mummified dead body once the soul has left it?  Similarly humans are moving corpses without the soul of humanity.

Saints have always asked man to tread the path of humanity and live with love and brotherhood.  But man loves hatred so much that he is not ready to let go of it!  Hatred only causes destruction whereas love rejuvenates.  ‘Loving is Living.’ The question is not how one dies but how one lives; whether man lived his life with large-heatedness or narrow-mindedness, cherishing the welfare of others or not.  Man’s performance of rites and rituals accompanied by a hard, cold and discompassionate heart can still not save him from the fire of hell, saints caution.  Time and again saints ask man to look within his mind to see if there are thorns of hatred or blossoms of love in it?  Those who pay heed to saints’ message, transform their life, attain their Ultimate Welfare as well as become a blessing for others.  May God bless so that there is love, peace and brotherhood in the world.”
