On June 26, 2008, blessing a congregation of devotees assembled to pay homage to Mata Ramrakhi Ji, His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj stated;
“A life lived while anchored in complete trust and faith in God Formless is indeed blessed. Saints and sages in every time and age have reminded man to always remember that his sojourn in this world is temporary; the world is not man’s permanent Abode. The world has also been equated to an inn or a guest house, but man under the influence of ignorance considers it his home and spends his whole life in greed, avarice while accumulating worldly wealth and possessions and forgets that one day he will have to depart empty-handed from the world! Nobody can live forever in this world. All that is visible to the eyes will perish one day, ‘Jo Dissey So Sagal Binase’. Yet man lives life while entangled in desires for temporary objects; the greed of his mind remains unsatiated. Saint Kabir has said. ‘Maya Mari Na Mann Mare, Mar Mar Gaya Sharir; Aasha Trishna Na Mare, Keh Gaye Dass Kabir.’ Living his life in such a manner man forgets that one day his body too, would die and decompose. Has man ever thought what did he earn while he lived in human body? Under the influence of ignorance man often thinks that he will pay attention to Eternal Truth in his old age. Does man know for sure if he will live up to his old age; can man even be sure if he will take his next breath or not!
Living in oblivion of Truth can be detrimental for man, such is the advice of saints. A saint has said, ‘Tale Toley Din Gaya, Bayaj Badanto Jaye; Na Har Bhajyo, Na Khat Phatyo Kal Pahuncho Aaye’ – that by postponing it, man is making it more difficult for himself; he neither attained Truth nor Salvation and his time to depart from the world has already arrived! Such words are not spoken with an aim to scare but to awaken man. So that he awakens well in time and realizes Truth while he still has time at hand.
Human species is considered the loftiest because it is during human life that the soul can become One with the Super-Soul; the part can Know its Source. Otherwise the soul wanders in ignorance. Those who attain the illumination of God-knowledge get out of the darkness of ignorance. Such ones Attain the True objective of precious human life. Otherwise man’s invaluable human life gets wasted upon trivialities. Such a message of saints is universal; it is meant for everyone whether he is an American, a Chinese, a Japanese, a North Indian or a South Indian. All the saints have called upon man to realize the Eternal Truth as well as live life imbibed with noble feelings; so that man is happy herein as well as hereafter.”
