SATSANG PROGRAMME IN THE DIVINE PRESENCE OF
HIS HOLINESS
BABA HARDEV SINGH JI MAHARAJ
Delhi, Ground No. 8, July
20, 2008
The Sunday Satsang programme on July 20, 2008 in Delhi was devoted to the world salvation tour to be undertaken by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj from the next day. Baba Ji is scheduled to visit Bahrain, Greece, Italy, UK, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Dubai during this month long tour.
Addressing the devotees, His Holiness said:
“Saints are making these efforts in various parts of the country and wherever we go, we find the number of devotees increasing day by day. Similar efforts are being made in other countries also. Ever since Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji first took this Mission abroad in 1967 the series of spiritual tours has continued. Several saints have also been going overseas from time to time to take this message of Truth in those countries. Consequently, the Mission has spread to various countries of Europe, Middle East, North America and other parts of the world. More recently several new countries have appeared on the Nirankari map of the world.
This time some countries of Europe and Middle East have been included in the tour. They also include the countries that Rev. Rajmata Ji could not visit last year because of her ill health. Like any other occasion in the past, this time also you are expressing good wishes for the fellow-devotees in those countries. So far as the pattern of the tours is concerned it is the same overseas as it is here in India. They are, of course, hectic because every effort is made to meet as many saints as possible. Generally, each place does not get more than half a day.
The followers of the Mission outside India have the same faith as you have here. They know that the real happiness or bliss flows from devotion to God only. It does not belong to a particular state or country. No wonder, they remain devoted to God even in the affluent countries. They follow the path of Gurmat and do not allow the material wealth of the world to come in the way of their devotion. They remain linked with this ‘divine nectar’ and are aware of how to safeguard themselves against the ‘poison’ of the material world. They give priority to devotion and continue to do service unto others (Sewa), seek company of the saints (Satsang) and remember God (Simran). Whenever I visit such (affluent) countries, I find devotees including women and children engaged in Sewa, Satsang and Simran.
Moreover, like in India, they have their social activities which help them take this message of Truth from place to place. They invite local citizens and dignitaries to their functions so that they also get familiarized with the Mission and its message. In particular, when I am there, the devotees invite such people and thus I also get an opportunity to meet them. I understand that even during this tour I am scheduled to have meetings with Mayors and senior officials at various places. I am told that in Verona in Italy I have been invited by the Mayor for a meeting in his office. Later a procession will start from his office which will conclude at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, about 2 kms from there. The Mayor and other senior officers will accompany the procession.
This is the result of the efforts of our saints who are taking the Mission’s message to those people. They convince them that while the world is witnessing so much of violence, the Mission endeavours to strengthen the feelings of universal brotherhood. They also point out that lot of devotional activities are going on in the world. But the devotees do not know the Supreme Entity they seek to worship. That is why there are discriminations on the basis of religion, caste and culture.
Our saints further point out that all the saints, Gurus and prophets had the same universal message. They came for the entire world and not for a particular sect or nation. Nobody was a stranger to them. They treated all as their own. Saints remind them that in Western countries people remember Jesus Christ in various ways. There are different churches. There is Salvation Army. There are Catholics, there are Protestants. Lord Jesus, however, is the same. Did he not teach love? Was his message not universal, for all? Did he not preach universal brotherhood, love and compassion?
The same message is sought to be preached by this Mission. Whether people come from the Western culture or from the East, from Europe or Asia, they should not have any feelings of discrimination against each other. The whole mankind is one family and this whole world is a global village. All the countries on this globe, this earth, form a cluster of villages with clusters of houses. And all have to live in harmony, with love and compassion for each other. Individuals may be physically at a distance from each other, but they must work for the welfare of all.
This is the message of the Mission and saints are making every effort to promote it. Whenever I get an opportunity to go abroad, I find that like India the number of devotees there also is continuously swelling. The saints in those countries too are keen to spread the message of the Mission. Let us pray that everybody may have such feelings. They may themselves remain firm in their faith and devotion, have trust in God and strengthen the feelings of love and respect not only at the family level but at all other levels also. They may have positive attitude and share each other’s pain and pleasure. They may pray together. It is said that families who pray together, stay together.”
