SNM Houston fight against hunger by volunteering!

How important is giving in our lives? Do we look for people to help? In the midst of our work and busy lives, can we dedicate a few moments for someone who needs us? Serving people is considered as worshipping God and doing things for our fellow human beings is doing things for God.

With the blessings of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj members of the Sant Nirankari Mission, Houston Branch (USA) in conjunction with people of the Houston Food Bank celebrated Volunteer Services on March 10th 2007.

This particular Food Bank provides supplies and provisions of food to poor and destitute people throughout the Houston area. In this activity, food was packed for the hungry people residing in the locality by the devotees and was distributed. A group of twenty devotees from the mission including children and elderly participated in this noble service. This was the great opportunity for Sewa Dal (Volunteers) to provide services for humanity.  It was felt by all participants that by offering services in this way without expecting anything in return, makes a difference in a persons individual life.

The organisers felt that we should be thankful to His Holiness Baba Ji for providing such wonderful opportunities to be of help to others.  The Volunteer Services were carried out under the guidance of Rev Bhalla Ji and everyone that participated thoroughly enjoyed themselves bringing into action the spiritual message of Baba Ji.
