PEACE, NOT PIECES

Sudhir Dureja (U.S.A.)

A Seminar on Peace, Not Pieces was organised by the Sant Nirankari Mission, U.S.A., with the support of the Family Church in Houston, Texas, which was addressed by representatives of different faiths. Below is given summary of heir views.

Sister Joy from Family Church said: We all are of one human family. God has a parental heart. Everyone of us has a common ground and we all continue to establish common grounds to bring out the co-operation for diverse people.

Mr. Jaffarullah, representing the Ahmadiya Muslim Committee, said: God is the center point. The person who believes in God will try to work for the benefit of humanity. If there is peace in the family, there is a bright future for the children. Whatever sacrifices we make, let us do it in the name of God and bring peace; we all follow different systems but with the same purpose of building peace.

Rev. Rush from Baptist Church praising the Lord said: There is not a person that has not heard of slavery. Lot of people has been affected by it. God has set us free but we have tied ourselves in chains. If I believe in God, I love everyone, I hate no more. Everyone over here has come to unite. We all are one under the shelter of God; I am not only physically free but mentally and spiritually too, as I believe in God and believe in the same freedom and peace for everyone.

Pastor Jerry from Family Church in Congo, Africa, said: The world is sad, is broken, is torn with tragedy, is smitten with suffering. Living in such a world needs God's shelter. Let us try to pass on sunbeams of our smile to everyone.

Dr. Bartley, a youth leader, said: Everyone of us is here with some purpose. Children are like flowers and teach them not to pass a person without acknowledging him. Children are watching us..., so the best job of leaders is to put in an effort to make a difference in lives of these children...If something is done with spirituality, it is a blessing.

Pastor Hayes from Gloryland Baptist Church said: Peace! It is good to be here. God of my religion who is Jesus is a God of peace! The planet earth is the hometown of all humankind, and the Spirit is the eternal fatherland where all humanity will eventually arrive.

Pastor of Praise and Deliverance Church, Dr. Sion, said: The honoured man of peace tonight! Puriji! It is a situation of harmonious relations and the world peace is designed. One must understand how can there be a peace in the nation, if I do not have peace in the family? We have been given a power by God to make some difference in our lives. I am blessed as I am in the midst of peaceful people and the Mission. Let's continue to work of peace.

Prof. J.S. Puri, President, Sant Nirankari Mission, U.S.A., said: We are thankful to the Lord for this beautiful opportunity to sit with all of you distinguished American leaders, noble souls and scholars. Indeed, it is a beautiful gathering!!!

We all have to adjust according to circumstances. We would never be happy if we are not able to change ourselves. Happiness truly comes from consciousness of the real self. Recently, a great scholar came to Nirankari Babaji and said, Babaji I want peace! Babaji gave a sweet smile which we have lost today with egocentric approach. Babaji said Eliminate 'I' and 'want' and you will all have peace, peace all around. Wants of life are changing into desires. Desire is not a wrong thing but when desires take the form of lust and passion, these become disasters. Our need can be met but not our greed.

The purpose of religion is to bring man closer to man. Unfortunately, religion is playing a destructive role. We can watch cinema movie together and do all kinds of activities together but, unfortunately, we cannot sit and pray together. Today with the blessings of the True Master we have been able to sit together.

Opportunity of human birth is to realise our real self (a constituent of God) and only by realising God by the grace of a True Master, we can enjoy and foster peace. Unfortunately, in the name of God, we all have created Pieces instead of Peace. We are all one. His Holiness has rightly said: Know the One, believe in the One and be one.
