The Sant Nirankari Mission’s Melbourne
Branch is among seven winners of the World Blood Donor Day
Award – 2009 for Victoria and Tasmania. The award was
presented at a special function on June 14, 2009 by Hon’ble
Nicola Raxon MP, Minister for Health and Ageing, Australia.
This year more than 90 devotees of the Mission donated their
blood at the Pinewood centre over Easter, a time when
donation numbers have traditionally been low. About 300
followers of the Mission in Melbourne have been donating
blood for the last 13 years. It is the kind teachings of His
Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj which guide these
volunteers towards selfless service of the community.
