A symposium on
'Spirituality – A Way of Life', was held in Pune in
Maharashtra on June 13, 2009. While Rev. C.L. Gulati,
Secretary of the Sant Nirankari Mandal presented the
main paper, the other saints who participated include
Rev S.V. Lavhate and Rev Toofani Vishwakarma from Mumbai
and Rev. Ashok Kalulkar from Pune. Rev Vilayat Rai
Lulla, Zonal Incharge, presided.
The Symposium was
attended by about 450 delegates including more than 200
enlightened saints. Most of the Mahapurushas who
attended the Symposium were young, educated who have
taken the Gyan in the last 2 to 5 years. One Miss
Manisha Kumbhar who will be posted as Dy. Collector in
one of the nearby districts also attended the
Symposium. She took Gyan only about one year back.
Similarly, one retired Principal Shri Khubchandani also
attended the symposium. Many others who were invited by
various Mahapurushas also attended the Symposium. All
of them were quite impressed with the philosophy of the
Mission. All the Mahapurushas have been requested to
keep in touch with the invitees.
Rev. C.L. Gulati in his
presentation dwelt upon the Sant Nirankari Mission's
approach that we may continue to stay in the material
world, but should not allow it to overpower us. There
should be a complete harmony between our material and
spiritual aspects of our life. For this, while we
pursue our worldly affairs honestly and diligently with
full sense of responsibility towards self, the family,
the society, the nation and the mankind as such, we must
seek the blessings of the True Master, attain
God-knowledge and get united with the Ultimate Reality
i.e., God.
This, he said, would
make a sea change in our way of life, our behavior. We
get committed to universal brotherhood and dedicate
ourselves to the cause of human welfare. We show
respect to all; we venerate and serve them as images or
reflection of God. We experience love in its true
universal form which begins from within as a heart to
heart and soul to soul relationship. We are
action-oriented; while we work hard, we leave the reward
unto God. God-knowledge becomes our character, we get
identified with spirituality.
The other speakers too
highlighted that spirituality or God-knowledge makes us
God-fearing as well as God-loving. We treat all as our
own and wish as well as do good for all. We realize
that the best way to please God is to please man.
A small documentary
film, photo exhibition and a publications stall marked
the occasion.
