Global Convention on Climate Security, Palampur: June 12–14,
2009
The Institute of Directors, World Council for Corporate
Governance and World Environment Foundation organized a 3-day Global
Convention on Climate Security in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh from June 12 to
14, 2009. Major J.D. Sharma, Member Central Planning and Advisory Board,
Sant Nirankari Mandal, Shri Atulit Saxena and Shri Harjit Nishad represented
the Sant Nirankari Mission.

Participating in the Plenary Session ‘Proactive –
Delivering a Holistic Response to Climate Change’ chaired by Mr. Richard
Little, Director, Impart International, UK, Major J.D. Sharma quoted His
Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and said, ‘The supreme truth is that
all living beings and all creations return to be one with their creator.
All of us will also return to our mother nature to be re-born if we don’t
attain God realization. Un-realized souls keep wandering in the polluted
climate of this physical world while the realized souls are always one with
the supreme consciousness – Almighty Nirankar. The realized souls consume
all poisonous elements of climate to emit nectar of love like Lord Shiva and
that is precisely how Sant Nirankari Mission views this enlarged environment
menace. We have got to invoke supreme powers from within, from our self;
from supreme consciousness; from the formless Nirankar to combat external
climate changes”
Rev Atulit Saxena shared his anthropological perspective
to effectively implementing Proactive by understanding local socio-cultural
codes. He underlined the need for cultural and climate anthropologists to
come together with experts from all other relevant streams to execute
coherent climate management strategies at local and global level.
The Convention was attended by renowned scientist,
scholars and social workers from 20 countries. The organizers and the
audience applauded Sant Nirankari Mission’s ideology of Universal
Brotherhood and Peaceful Co-existence and thanked His Holiness Satguru Baba
Ji for his blessings on the successful completion of convention.
