‘Everyone living for
everyone else’ has been the advice of all the prophets,
gurus, sages and seers down the ages. This is seen
followed in letter and spirit by the Nirankari devotees
who flood the blood donation Camps as a part of their
devotion resulting in a sort of human revolution. One
of these Camps was organized here in Sant Nirankari
Satsang Bhawan Sector 30-A, where as many as 622
volunteers, including 228 women donated blood. They
were from Chandigarh.

Blessing the mass Blood
Donation Camp here, Shri Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Finance
Secretary, Chandigarh Administration stated that blood
donation is a veritable proof of human oneness and
cosmic integrity. It is the duty of every human-being
to live for others. The Nirankaris are donating the
blood voluntarily with this spirit. Deeply moved by the
high-level of self motivation born out of devotion to
the Mission, he described the Camp as a Mission in
action and appreciated this gesture. Having inspected
the Camp, Shri Sanjay Kumar said that hundreds of units
of blood to be collected here will save the lives of
patients struggling for life. He was very much
impressed by the enthusiasm of donors in the Camp.
Blood donation is
already a mass movement with the followers of the
Mission. Ever since it is started in 1986, a number of
blood donation camps have been organized by the Mission
every year commencing with the Manav Ekta Divas “Human
Unity Day” observed on April 24 in the memory of the
former spiritual Head of the Mission Baba Gurbachan
Singh Ji and several devotees who laid down their lives
for the humanity.

The Nirankaris donate
their blood with the sense of devotion. They owe their
enthusiasm to the inspiration provided by the personal
example of regular blood donation set by H.H. Baba
Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, his gracious spouse Pujya Mata
Sawinder Ji and other members of the holy family, who
participate in these camps. Upto the year 2008, the
Mission has donated 3,63,073 units of blood in the Camps
organized in India.
The Mission has at its
credit ISBTI Award for the distinguished and invaluable
contribution to the voluntary blood donation movement at
All India level both qualitatively and quantitatively.
Mr. Mohinder Kumar
Nandwani visited the Camp and said that blood as such
has no caste, creed or colour. We are all
blood-brothers. Blood donation and its transfusion is a
veritable proof of human oneness and cosmic integrity.

This Camp was organized
by Rev Shubh Karan, Sanchalak of Sector 30 area, with
the help of Sewadal volunteers. Recalling the message
of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji he said “Blood
donation symbolized the organic and natural unity of
mankind and by donating blood we are doing fundamental
duty to help cement human bonds.” He further stated,
“Not only here, the Nirankari Mission is organizing 281
most disciplined such Camps all over the country during
the year 2009 to serve the humanity.
A Team of more than 20
doctors and other staff led by Dr. Mrs. Usha Rao, Blood
Transfusion Officer, PGIMER, Chandigarh conducted the
7-hour hi-tech blood collection operations. She said,
“The enthusiastic response of donors was a unique factor
in the Nirankari Blood Donation Camps which I found
during my long association with such camps.”
