With the grace of
Almighty Nirankar the Youth from the West Midlands
Branch organised a Charity Cricket Match on the 19th of
April 2009 in celebration of Human Unity (Manav Ekta).
In the month of April, in particular on the 24th day,
the Nirankari Mission across the globe pay tribute to
the magnificent contribution that Satguru Baba Gurbachan
Singh Ji and so many others made for the upliftment of
Humanity.




The match was arranged
with Penkridge Cricket Club who are a semi-professional
team based in Cannock and the Nirankari Youth team
comprised of players from different cities of UK. The
principal objective of the event was to promote and
demonstrate our values like Brotherhood and community
harmony whilst also raising awareness on significance of
blood donation as this is also given significance during
Manav Ekta as well as raising funds for the National
Society for Prevention of Cruelty against Children.
(NSPCC). The youngsters have managed to raise in excess
of £500.00 for this worthy cause.


The match commenced at
3pm at the Penkridge Cricket Club and was to be a 25:25
match. The weather turned out perfect for the day with
temperatures of 18C for the middle being wonderful for
both players and supporters. The Nirankari Youth won the
toss and opted for Penkridge to Bat first who scored an
inspiring 243 runs. In response to this the Nirankari
Youth being rallied with the sound of the Dhol Drum beat
reached 106 runs within 19 overs. The match ended on
this note with celebration by all the gathered
supporters who praised the efforts of the Teams. The
Chairmen of the club Martyn Rylance was pleased to see
so many people gathered, in excess of 200 supporters
form the Mission and commented that he had not
experienced such an amazing atmosphere at club as had
seen on the day. He even commented that this match
should now become an annual event at the club.


The warmth of the
devotees in itself has a wonderful impact on anyone who
come into their company and it was again apparent on
this occasion. Food and refreshments had been arranged
and all funds raised were to go to this noble cause.
Maheshawar Singh the head of the Social and Welfare
department was present together with Sukhjinder Singh.
The publication department of the Mission was
represented by Kuldeep Sanghera ji for any of the Club
supporters and members to take away information about
the Mission. It was in all, an extremely successful day
in which everyone was reminded about the celebration of
Human Unity and that the devotees should follow suit in
keeping alive the principles that were given to the
entire humanity by Satguru Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji
Maharaj.
