In the latter weeks of May and the
beginning of June, the city of London is graced with many
food festivals from across the globe. One such festival,
namely the Taste of Asia, held a 3 day exhibition of some of
the finest food and flavours that the Indian subcontinent
has to offer.On the 29th, 30th
and 31st of May 2009, marquees were spread across Potters
Field, adjacent the Tower Bridge in Central London as
thousands of visitors passed by.

Devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission
were also a big part of this event as they provided a
plethora of musical items in a marquee displaying the
variety of musical sounds across India.
The devotees had a huge impact on a
multicultural and ethnically diverse audience as they shared
a blend of Punjabi folk songs, uplifting qawalis and English
hymns in which the musician blended Eastern and Western
instruments together.
The diversity of sounds and
togetherness in which the devotees performed truly captured
the entire audience. Passers by also warmed to the t-shirts
that devotees were wearing which read "Universal Brotherhood
- Peace Not Pieces, Let's Work For It".

These t-shirts particularly pleased
Cherie Blair, the wife of ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair as
devotees presented her with a leaflet which shares the
values of the Sant Nirankari Mission.
Various media groups covering the
event said that they had expected to be marvelled by the
Taste of Asia but it was truly enlightening hearing such
profound words being shared through a variety of musical
genres presented by the devotees of the Mission.
