Sant Nirankari Mission UK
held it’s first Youth Conference of the year on 15th Feb
2009. This event, held at the West Midlands Bhawan, was
attended by all branches nationally, and was an expression
of the philosophy of the Mission in the English language.
It was blessed by the esteemed presence of Rev Khem Raj
Chadha, Secretary, Sant Nirankari Mandal from Delhi who
happened to be in the UK for this occasion.
A gathering of some 700 delegates
filled the Worship Hall at the Satsang Bhawan and a number
of local people had also been attracted by adverts placed in
local libraries and on targeted internet sites. Electronic
invitations had also been circulated to a number of public
service agencies and charities, which led to a positive
response.
The theme addressed by delegates, and
later elaborated upon by Chadha Ji was:
‘Peace, the answer…’. There were
thought provoking talks on this subject, interspersed with
poetic renditions and uplifting songs. A large screen
offered a multi-media experience, and a live band added a
fresh appeal to proceedings. Indeed, Chadha Ji commented on
this being his first experience of a modern congregation
geared towards a Western audience.
Delegates received spiritual
nourishment in abundance, and left feeling inspired to work
for greater peace within the world, beginning with
themselves. There is great anticipation for a further
national conference, and two regional conferences, scheduled
to occur through the coming months.
