Regional Samagams have been taking place across the UK to
introduce the Sant Nirankari Mission to new audiences. With this in
aspiration, a gathering of some 300 people took place on Sat 13 June 2009,
in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire. Local organisers had booked a newly built
community centre for the programme, and made great efforts to invite
friends, relatives, work colleagues, neighbours and others to attend and
partake in proceedings.
As such, the visiting Parcharak, Rev HS Upashak Ji, was
able to communicate the message of His Holiness Baba Ji to newcomers, from a
diverse range of backgrounds. This included a number of South Indian
families, Punjabis, and people of English origin who attended with their
partners and children.
As an example of good public relations, the community
meal was prepared by members of the local Sikh Temple, who also attended and
enjoyed the poems, songs and inspirational talks. The Head Priest (Gianni
Ji) of the Temple also shared a shabad from the Guru Granth Sahib, whilst
Sister Rashida Begum spoke about the messages of the Holy Koran, and the
presence of Allah closer to us than we can even imagine. In fact, the whole
programme was a testament to the broad-minded and all-inclusive philosophy
of HH Babaji, where different cultures, beliefs and practices co-exist
peacefully. It was an exercise in collective worship of One God – the
Creator of all beings.
Rev Amarjeet Chera (local Pramukh) welcomed the visitors
and saints, and thanked them for their support. He reiterated the core
teaching of the Sant Nirankari Mission, which is to KNOW ONE, BELIEVE IN
ONE, AND BECOME ONE. After the discourse, Rev Upashak Ji travelled on to
Yorkshire and then to Oxfordshire, to attend further congregations for the
remainder of the weekend. He was accompanied by youth speakers, who enjoyed
the opportunity to develop spiritually, whilst offering their time in
service. This was also a reflection of HH Baba Ji’s wishes, for us to blend
the experience of our elders, with the energy of our youth. When we follow
Baba Ji’s wishes, things fall into place and great outcomes are achieved.
All with grace.
