On the 8th March 2009 a team of
runners from across Europe joined the Marathon (Semi de
Paris) for the noble cause of raising funds for a charity in
the United Kingdom which supports sufferers of Leukaemia and
also to bring awareness of the Message of His Holiness
Nirankari Baba Ji. The team named the SNM Global Athletes
were running for ‘Peace not Pieces’, which was a message
inscribed upon their T-Shirts. Such contribution had been
arranged in continuation of the numerous Peace Initiatives
undertaken by the Sant Nirankari Mission across the whole
world. Recently we experienced events in Jammu and Kashmir
Region of India, Houston in the USA and now Paris on the
European Continent.

The Athletes gathered in Paris on the
7th March 2008 to take part in a Satsang. It enthused the
local devotees who then all came to support the team the
following day. Many devotees also travelled from the UK,
Belgium and other regions of Europe to support all the
runners. The Race commenced at 10am on the 8th March in
which a total of 25,000 people from all over the world took
part. This was a wonderful event in which the broad message
of His Holiness was given to society in which it can be
agreed that the members of the Mission are working for peace
not pieces for our global family, by raising valuable
charitable funds. At the present time over £3,500 has been
raised and the funds are increasing by the day.

All the runners completed the race and
have been inspired by the contribution they have made. They
were given a medal and diploma on completion. They are all
now looking forward to the next major initiative of this
nature.
