Sant Nirankari Mission Australia
collaborates with the Australian Red Cross Blood Services (ARCBS)
twice a year to donate blood for the benefit of humanity.
The most recent of blood drives took place on Saturday 9th
October 2010 at Sydney Satsang Bhawan between 9.30 am and
3.30 pm. A mobile van for donating blood was set up at the
bhawan where a total number of 42 saints donated blood.
The ARCBS confirms that each unit of blood will help save
three lives, so accordingly the blood donated by the 42 saints
of Sydney will be used to save 126 lives.
President of Sant Nirankari Mission Australia and Sydney
Parmukh Rev Chanbir Ji welcomed Ms Maureen Stacey (manager of
Rosehill blood donor centre) and thanked her for organising the
event. In her speech Ms Stacey expressed her gratitude on behalf
of the NSW Health Department and encouraged the saints to
continue donating blood on a regular basis.
Rev Romy Gauba Ji who organised this event along with sister
Sandra ji expressed the wishes of saints to donate stem cells,
which is another step forward in the direction of saving human
lives. Ms Stacey mentioned that stem cells donations in the
Asian heritage are not very common and the contribution made by
SNM would be pivotal to human lives that need transplants. She
praised the Mission’s support and commitment towards serving
humanity.
