On September 17, 2010 the Sant Nirankari
Mission Toronto Canada participated in an Interfaith Vigil
for the victims of the floods and mudslides in Pakistan and
China. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Sufi, Zoroastrian,
Scientology and the Sant Nirankari Mission were the main
Faith Groups represented there. It happened at the beautiful
St Michael's Cathedral in downtown Toronto. Each faith group
leader or representative said a prayer from their respective
faith for the victims of Pakistan and China and lit a
candle.
Funds were also collected at the end of the Vigil
for the Red Cross. The Mission is a part of the Executive Team
in the council so it helps in a large part of the decision
making process and in serving the events for the benefit of
humanity and unity. Please see below for the prayer said by the
Mission:
“We are all gathered here today to pray for the flood victims
of Pakistan and China. All of us belong to a respective faith
group or belief and are offering a prayer to a Supreme Energy or
Force called by many names such as God, Allah, Waheguru,
Nirankar, Paramatma, Dao, Jehova etc. As I am representing the
Nirankari Mission we believe this Supreme Being to be Nirankar
(Formless God). Our Spiritual Master, His Holiness Baba Hardev
Singh Ji teaches us that we must help humanity in such disasters
as all human beings are the image of God. Furthermore, though we
do not understand these disasters and the suffering in the
world, we must accept these situations as Gods will and do our
part in rebuilding the respective nations.
So it is with this intention I pray to the Almighty Nirankar
and our Satguru Baba Ji to give peace and strength to the people
of Pakistan and China, so they may accept the will of God and
move forward with Strength and Purpose with the assistance of
the whole world.”
