No government can be successful without having
cooperation of citizens and citizens must provide fullest
cooperation for effective governance.
This was stated by Shri Prithviraj Sahni, Mayor of Delhi,
while addressing local residents on the occasion of cleanliness
drive by Sant Nirankari Mission in Bhagwati Vihar, Uttam Nagar.
Shri Subhash Arya, a Parliamentarian and Shri Joginder Pal Arya,
Municipal Councillor, were also present on the occasion. Sant
Nirankari Mission organised Cleanliness Drive at seven places
including Uttam Nagar, Jahangir Puri, Bhalsava Dairy, Mukundpur,
Hastal, Mohan Garden and Jharoda areas of the Capital on
September 10 and 11, 2010.

While appreciating community welfare activities by the
Mission, Shri Sahni said that the Mission is uniting the society
through these activities. The Cleanliness Drive has itself
become an act of devotion by the Mission. The Sewadal
volunteers and other devotees of the Mission have made the areas
cleaner and beautiful. He urged the local residents to maintain
cleanliness in their respective colonies.

It may be mentioned that the Sant Nirankari Mission had
conducted a similar Cleanliness Drive on the occasion of 56th
Birthday of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj on 23rd
February, 2009 across the country. To keep environment
pollution-free and clean, the Mission has been organizing the
cleanliness drive and tree plantation at various places. The
volunteers of Nirankari Sewadal and other devotees conducted
door to door awareness campaign, cleaned inner lanes and main
roads and sprinkled mosquito repellents at water logged places
in these areas.
