Nirankari Devotees Help Flood Hit People in Uttarakhand

The Jaspur branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission in Uttarakhand organized a relief camp in Afzalgarh near Ramganga Barrage in district Bijnaur from September 22 to 30, 2010 to help the flood hit people of the area.  About 4000 people received the benefit.

The flood was caused by heavy rains which compelled authorities to release excess water from the Kalagarh Dam.  Nirankari volunteers provided tented accommodation to the affected families.  Immediately food was cooked in Jaspur and transported to the camp. Later the inmates were provided ration.  In some cases the volunteers had to use boats.

The arrangements were supervised by Rev Raj Kapoor Ji, Zonal Incharge Jaspur.  All the expenses were met by local Sangat.
