12th Annual Blood Donation Camp - Toronto, Canada

On Saturday October 5, 2008 the Toronto branch held its 12th annual blood donation camp. With the grace of Nirankar, the sewadal started early on Saturday morning preparing and organizing the Bhawan before the Canadian Blood Services (CBS) arrived at 9am. The saints had invited several friends and family from their communities by giving out flyers to come and donate blood at the Bhawan prior to the event.

The sewadal assisted CBS in every way possible, whether it was from registration, screening, to serving food - each and every donor felt the love. The CBS was very impressed and appreciative by the help of the sewadal, as each one dedicated their time and effort, to make this event a success once again. One young saint said, “It was an excellent turnout from the saints and community, who took out time to help for a great cause, even those who didn’t donate helped out in any way they could”.

The greatest service the saints can offer to a world where violence, intolerance, and bloodshed make headline news is continuing to help and aid to those in need. Furthermore, Baba Ji’s life and teachings send the message that when blood is transfused in human veins it knows no religion, caste, or nationality. Baba Ji continues to spread the message of peace, love, unity, and tolerance to humanity today and by giving blood we are giving the gift of life to somebody in need. Baba Ji has often quoted, “na koi vari na hi begana, sakal sang hamko baan ayi”. This conveys the message that there are no strangers or enemies but we are all one global family and we should always love, respect and help each other.

In the end, the efforts and support of the saints and community allowed the CBS to collect 57 units of blood with 87 people registered for the event. Let us pray to almighty Nirankar that we may continue to aid those in need so that we may make the world a better place.
