Blood Donation Camp in Mohali

A mega blood donation camp was organize by Sant Nirankari Mission at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Phase 6, Mohali (Punjab) on August 3, 2008. As many as 488 volunteers including 195 women donated blood on this occasion, Rev. Gobind Singh, General Secretary, Sant Nirankari Mandal, inaugurated the camp.

This was the 10th Blood Donation Camp of Mohali Branch of Sant Nirankari Mandal. The Mission starts a series of blood donation camps on 24th April every year, in the memory of Nirankari Chief Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji and other martyrs who lived and sacrificed their lives for human unity through spiritual awakening.  Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, who took the reins of the Mission after this exhorted the followers to donate blood instead of shedding it. On the call of the guru the Nirankaris from all over of the world dedicated themselves to the cause of blood donation as a mark of their devotion to their Satguru.

Like earlier camps women again came out enthusiastically to donate blood. Generally women shy away from donating blood but women associated with Nirankari Mission always remain on the fore front and donate blood liberally.

Dr. Usha Rao of PGI who was heading the team which supervised the camp highly praised the commitment shown by Nirankari followers.

Col. C.S.Toor and Sh. K.A Garg thanked the volunteers for rising to the occasion once again.
