Charity Begins at Home (Clothes Collection) In the Summer of this year 2008, the West Midlands Branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission commenced a clothes collection working in conjunction with the Red Cross. In continuation of these noble efforts and pursuant to the recent floods in Bihar, India which devastated the region, the Mission teamed up with a local organisation, to send much needed clothing to the effected areas. The Mission working closely with Tarsem Lal the co-ordinator of the Divine Onkar Mission from Wolverhampton, renewed the efforts and collected a magnificent 400 bags full of clothing to send on this occasion. The administrators were amazed by the public spirit of the devotees as the collection was completed within two weeks. On the 1st October the clothes were collected from the Missions centre in the West Midlands and is to make its way to a local transporter, finally heading for ship containers. To help with loading came forward senior members of the Mission Sukhjinder Singh, Upashak Ji, Kuldip Roopra, Maheswar Singh Bhamra, Sukesh and Dharm Loi amongst others. It was again a remarkable effort and was appreciated by the members of the Divine Onkar Mission who acknowledged the good work that the Sant Nirankari Mission is undertaking in the cause to uplift humanity today. It is hoped that future collections can be completed and clothes sent to other areas of the world were members of the human family, sit in need and perhaps the Missions little effort in this way can bring some much needed happiness in the lives of others. * * * * * * * |
