Sant Nirankari Mission Support Launch of Sandwell Faith Trail

For many years now the members of the Sant Nirankari Mission have been working tirelessly with the Sandwell Multi Faith Network to create harmony and community cohesion in the Borough, UK. The Tourism section of Sandwell Council by joining hands with Sandwell Multi Faith have created Sandwell Faith Trail, which was launched on the 11th October 2008 along with the Sandwell Multi Faith website.

The Sant Nirankari Mission was represented by Vice Chair, HS Bhatia Ji, Treasurer Kuldeep Roopra who are both officers of the Multi Faith Network as well as Gurdial Roopra Ji and Gurpreet Bhatia. Leaders of all faith groups were present at the Launch which took place at the Bala Ji Mandir in Tividale. It was an honour to also have in the audience and meet with Dr Harriet Crabtree who is the Director of the Inter faith network of United Kingdom.

Speeches took place explaining the background of the initiative by Barbara Dixon, Manjit Kaur of cultural services and Bhatia Ji who chaired the meeting. The actual launch took place by the lighting of a candle by the Worshipful Mayor of Sandwell. The meeting was concluded by a walk through the grounds of the Mandir were seven hills have been created which have been dedicated to seven faith groups of the world. Bhatia Ji mentioned again that Multi faith works to create peace which in essence is the objective of His Holiness Nirankari Baba Ji who says,

“Peace Not Pieces, Let's Work for it.”

The Faith Trail in itself covers the 6 towns of Sandwell and includes visits to Christian Churches, Hindu Mandirs, Sikh Gurdwaras, Bhuddist Vaharas to name a few. Representation was made to the administrators who advised that the next edition of the Trial was due to be published in which they would endeavour to include an introduction to the Sant Nirankari Mission. However, the electronic version would be updated immediately.

The purpose of such initiative is to bring unity within society. If the heads of organisations have a mutual understanding of one another no doubt this message will be filtered into one and all and in this way create a degree of Universal Brotherhood as required by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh.
