His Holiness launches a Global Human Chain to Combat Climate Change.

Addressing the on-going three-day Convention Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj said that no doubt he would look at the phenomenon of Climate Change as a layman only, but he was very much concerned as a member of the human family.  He said that we must create awareness among the masses so that we all participate in the efforts to combat global warming and the change in climate.  He observed that we must act with the spirit that ‘we have no passengers on the spaceship of earth, we are all members of crew’. Hence everybody should work with the spirit of responsibility as also a sense of answerability.

Baba Ji said that whether we are executives in the corporate sector, officers, businessmen or anywhere else in the society, we must be conscious of our responsibility to the present as well as the future generations of humanity.  This is so because we are all human beings first and anything else later.  We may use the natural resources for our own comforts but bear in mind at the same time that we must hand down a better world to our children.  Let us, therefore, avoid creating pollution.  Let each one play his or her role towards this.  Let us not consider it the duty of the Government alone to control the pollution of air, water etc.

Referring to the Mission, His Holiness said that we preach the oneness of God and oneness of man.  This takes one above negativity and promotes positivity in one’s approach to life as such.  A spiritually enlightened person does not think in terms of selfishness or harm unto others.  He thinks for the welfare of all.  Naturally he will feel happy to do his best to save the environment from pollution.
