Devotion Gives Strength to Make Life Easy - JRD Satyarthi Leicester: The President of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, Rev JRD Satyarthi addressed here a well-attended congregation on Sunday, June 22, 2008. He said, “Devotion to God gives us better strength than our own efforts. With the spiritual strength that we derive from the company of saints makes it easier for us to overcome our family, social and other worldly problems. A devotee should, therefore, always be thankful to God. Only God is permanent, eternal and infinite. Remaining united with Him bestows the art of living a life equitably.” Referring to material wealth, Rev Satyarthi Ji said that by itself it has never harmed any person. It is man who needs to improve his attitude towards materialism. In case we give preference to the Creator, we can make life blissful. Rev Satyarthi Ji further said that we celebrate the birthday of a child. We do not rejoice because he has grown up. In fact he has reduced his sojourn in this world by one year. Saints, however, rejoice because they know that he has spent one more year in the company of saints, in the service of saint. Saints take it as a mark of spending the year with success. This gives them a sense of satisfaction and makes them rejoice. Life spent in harmony between material wealth and spirituality indeed produces happiness. Addressing another congregation in West Midland the same day, Rev Satyarthi Ji observed: “Efforts are made to suppress the Mind, but what we need is to give it the right direction. Mind never wants to bend towards vices. It never wants to be dubbed as afflicted by passion, greed or any other negative tendency, it desires welfare for all. It is full of compassion. But still if it wavers, it is because of man’s Karmas – the past actions. We got this human birth after passing through numerous lives of other species. Our actions of those lives remain related to our present human life. We must, therefore, do some new deeds. For this it is essential that we should know God and realize His presence with us all the time everywhere. Our Mind must be engaged in remembrance of God all the time.” * * * * * * * |
