Global Peace Youth Rally

On August 2, 2008, Washington D.C. saints, including the youth gathered at the Global Peace Festival to celebrate the Interfaith Youth Rally. The event took place in Capitol Heights, Maryland from 1- 6 pm and was hosted by the Global Peace Festival partners, interfaith organizations. Hundreds came together to celebrate an uplifting message on the theme of "One Family Under God," and specifically "It's Time to Quit the Violence," targeting the youth.

Sant Nirankari Mission youth not only attended, but took part in the festivities of day with great vigor. Through inspiration music, dance performances, and motivational sermons, people from different faiths emphasized the message: 'One Family Under God' and demonstrating Models of Peace in the community can help uplift and inspire young people to go beyond their present circumstances to become peacemakers within their own families and neighborhoods. The Mission's youth perfomed a bhangra dance on devotional songs, and gave speeches. Loveena Gahunia Ji gave an introduced the Sant Nirankari Mission and its message, and Priya Dadlani Ji shared inspiring words on Universal Brotherhood, while quoting Mother Theresa and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Additionally, Sant Nirankari Mission saints participated in other events such as the Interfaith Choir and Youth Interfaith clean up service on July 12, 2008 in Washington D.C. With the blessings of His Holiness Satguru Baba Ji, the Sant Nirankari Mission, Universal Brotherhood became a part of the Global Peace Festival, a worldwide movement of peace, harmony, reconciliation among he members of the whole human family.

In this way the youth were able to spread the Mission’s name among the general public, who were very impressed with Nirankari Youth’s enthusiasm and energy.
