23.02.09 - Celebration of Guru Puja Diwas
through our actions
Guru Puja
Diwas is a time where followers of the Sant Nirankari Mission
rejoice worldwide and thank the Lord for blessing them with such
a selfless spiritual guide in Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji
Mahraj.
Baba Ji’s teachings have always reflected that we should work
for the welfare of humanity and has requested his devotees that
if they wish to celebrate his Birthday that the best gift of all
is to live up to these teachings. Baba Ji had humbly requested
that serving food to the less fortunate would be a meaningful
step in the right direction.
These teachings were something that the Oxford congregation wanted to
uphold as they decided to donate and serve food to the elderly
occupants residing in Marston Court care home.
Representing the Mission were SNM UK Executive Member Rev. Yog
Krishan Oberoi, local committee members Rev. Ishar Johore, Rev.
Lachman Singh Daudhar and Rev. Harbhan Dass Tura along with Rev.
Kuljinder Singh, Rev. Satish Oberoi and Rev. Rozy Ji.

Although these were the devotees that represented SNM Oxford, it
is recognised that various saints helped prepare the food, which
included several cakes.
Although the home is not far from the Oxford Bhawan, this was
the first time the residents and staff had received visitors
from the Bhawan and heard of the Sant Nirankari Mission.
What was even more remarkable was that sister Amarjit Ji and her
daughter, humble devotee of the Oxford congregation, had been
assisting at the care home for a considerable amount of time.
There was a great atmosphere of compassion and humility as the
saints served the elderly residents who appreciated the efforts
and company of the saints as they do not receive many visitors.
It is hoped that the SNM Oxford will continue to build on this
new found relationship and by visiting the care home in the near
future.
